So today's outfit is another maxi skirt! (Don't you just heart them?!) They are so easy to style and give a modest look. Another fav of mine is slogan t-shirts and this one I bought a while back from TK Maxx. On top I'm wearing a denim wash jacket from Zara.
This is the look which I have created in my latest hijab tutorial. It was a requested look from my followers on Instagram and facebook :) It is so simple to achieve but gives an added twist to the overall look.
Here's another photo of the same style but with a headband added:
Hope you all had a FAB-ulous Eid :) I certainly did, although for some reason it always goes by so quickly!
I wanted to purchase an Indian outfit especially for Eid, which is something I haven't done in years. So I popped to Green Street with my sister....never again! Lol, well it wasn't too bad, but certainly chaotic. I tried on a few outfits but couldn't find one i was 100% happy with. The OMG moment was trying on an outfit at the back of a shop, amongst a pile of rubbish!!
Anyway, in the end I left empty handed and instead wore one given to me a few years ago that I adore! The shape of the lengha (skirt) is similar to what I had designed for my wedding- the victorian style skirt with plenty of structure. Elegant shape with a little detail on the top and lengha.
As the top is short sleeves I've worn a matching bolero on top. The dress is actually a greenish colour but shows up blue on pictures.
For the hijab style I wore a plain teal maxi hijab from Princess Rockz with a silver headband and draped with the dupatta on top. The hijab style is similar to a tutorial ive made on my Youtube channel Hope you all had an enjoyable Eid :)
Todays recipe is perfect if you don't have much time to cook and want a quick meal. This will take less than 30 minutes including preparation and cooking time. It's ideal for lunch, although you can eat any time of the day.
So lets get started!
You will need:
(Based on serving for 3 people)
* 1 tablespoon cooking oil * 1.5-2 cans of tinned plum or chopped tomatoes * 2 red onions * 2 garlic cloves * salt (to taste) * chopped fresh corriander * 1 teaspoon of ground cummin powder * 2-3 Peppercorns * Black seeds (nigella seeds-optional) * 1 teaspoon red chilli powder * Eggs * Baby spinach * Cheese (I'm using cheddar) * Toast or bread to serve
First heat the oil in a pan and add the onions. Add a little salt to help the onions to dissolve. Once the onions are softened add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Add the tomatoes and let cook for further 2 minutes. Add the black seeds, peppercorns, ground cummin powder and salt to taste and cook for a few minutes on medium heat. Sprinkle in chopped corriander and cook for 1 minute there after the mixture is complete.
Next you need to plate up the mixture into small bowls. Each bowl will serve one person. First spoon in some of the tomato mixture and then crack 1-2 eggs. Add some baby spinach on top and grated cheddar cheese (or any other cheese).
Finally heat the mixture in the grill for around 10 minutes, or until the eggs are fully cooked and the cheese has melted. Serve with toast or bread.

Hope you enjoy cooking this recipe, its truely one of my favourites and tastes DELICIOUS!
I'm obsessed with accessories so I'm always on the look out for ways to store them. Whilst in Primark I noticed this accessories hanger which I think it a great idea! thought I would share this with others that are on the look out for storage ideas. It has 11 hooks which is generous for the price of £2. You can hang in your wardrobe or on a nail on the wall.
For my other storage ideas have a look at my videos on Youtube
Today was a freezing day of about 2 degrees Celsius- perfect for wearing my winter hijab and bobble hat! (One of the joys of living in a cold country). Some girls love shopping for shoes and others for jewellery. I'm a girl that's kinda obsessed with hats and of course hijabs lol. I have a few other hats which I will show in future OOTD.
There are a mix of colours in the overall outfit but I think it works well together and showcases my style. I have layered with a few tops and finished off with a chunky cardigan. Black is a safe colour for me but I've also incorporated browns and added a fusion of colours with the hijab. I won't bother explaining where I purchased the outfit from as I'm sure you've seen me mention in previous blog posts!
Hmm I think I dropped a £5 note...
Moody much??
Behind the smile I had a snotty nose lol
You can style your hijab in many ways with this kind of hat. For one way you can watch the video below, which can also be used with other type of hats too.
Don't forget to subscribe to my YouTube channel for video updates :)
I want to know what you are wearing this winter! If it's hot where you are (lucky you) then also let me know what clothes you are rockin' at this moment.
So this is a dish which I have learnt from my mother, and as I love it so much I thought I would share with you.
Just a note that when I cook I rarely use measurements- I prefer to guess and add according to taste (or in my case smell) Yes I smell my food to see whether it needs more spice, lol don't ask why but it works for me.
So the measurements that I will provide are approximate, but remember you can adjust according to taste.
This will feed approx 3-4 people
500g lamb mince meat
Red and green peppers
garlic cloves or powder (or can use both)
Ginger (fresh or powder) approx 3 cloves/1 teaspoon
Black Seeds/Nigella Seeds
Garam Masala
Salt
Coriander
Chilli powder and fresh chillies
Curry Powder
1 large onion
Oil
Tomatoes
So first heat the oil (approx 1 teaspoon) then add the chopped onion and cook for 3 minutes. Add the mince meat and cook for further 3 minutes then add the garlic and ginger, salt and all the spices. After 10 minutes add the peppers and cook until they soften. The mince meat should be cooked until brown (approx 30 minutes in total) Once cooked the onions should have softened and dissolved with the meat.
So that's how I make mince meat. I will use the same technique to make the mince for shepherds pie, although I will add potatoes instead of the peppers.
I like to have this with basmati rice and with a tasty salad. I add Cheddar cheese, juice of a lemon and mint sauce to my salad. This meal will provide protein, carbohydrates and nutrients.
I may do a separate blog post/video for other recipes if it is requested.
I've always liked slogan tee's so when I spotted this one in TK Maxx I just had to have it! I especially like the message lol.
If you live in London head to Camden as they have a huge range of slogan tee's as well as other quirky clothes/jewellery. To soak in the true atmosphere go on a Saturday and also enjoy the food stalls. Anyway, to find out what I've worn with the t-shirt have a look at the YouTube video below :)
Visiting the pyramids, wow what an experience! You can read about it here. So again I didn't want to get my sandals dirty so opted for my favourite Primark boots. Thank God as well because it was pretty dusty (You'll find out once you visit Cairo) So I'm wearing jeans from H&M, the red dress I purchased from Forever 21. I've worn a black top underneath as the dress is short sleeved.
I've tried (I do try my best sometimes lol) to match the hijab with my outfit. So I figured the colours kind of match my dress. It's the 'Splash of Paint Maxi hijab' from Princess Rockz. What do you think? Then of course the all ESSENTIAL sunglasses, and not just for the obvious reason, I wore them for blanking out the touts and they worked a treat! So there's a great tip for you guys ;o)
I've been asked many times how I apply my eyeliner. Its' a really simple look using two products- a liquid and pencil eyeliner. I use liquid for my upper lid and pencil on my waterline. I like to use liquid because if I apply the pencil to my upper lid it wears off easily onto the top of my lid (I have droopy eyelids). Whereas with the liquid it stays put until I remove it.
The whole process takes me around 30 seconds-quick and easy, perfect for a lazy bum like me :p
If you have droopy lids like moi then the flick at the end will really help to open and extend your eyes. Draw a thicker line if you have small lids, but if you have bigger lids then a thin line will do. Finally apply the GOSH liner on your water line.
For an evening look I have applied a really thin line of liquid under my bottom lashes, just to add depth. If I'm going out for a special occasion then I will also apply mascara (Not worn in the photos). At the moment I'm using Maybelline Collosal Mascara.
Yes guys if you don't know already, I have a Youtube channel so please subscribe to receive updates on new videos.
My channel is a mix of hijab tutorials, beauty videos and also hauls. You can check out these seperate videos from the various playlists on the channel. Hope you enjoy :)
Akhawat have recently launched their website, and when I first had a look, I was very impressed. (first impressions count right?)
Here's some information about the company: "Akhawat the first Abaya clothing company in the west to launch bespoke design and sizing for luxury abayas. We offer a myriad or choices when it comes to quality fabrics and designs. With an aray of different combinations, preferences, fittings, and sizes, the amount of freedom you have to express yourself is almost limitless."
Quite impressive right??
They have three collections in total, and each offer something different depending on the occassion:
BASICALLY BLACK
The Basically Black Collection offers abayas with a twist, much different to the standard black abayas I've seen. They are made from high quality material to make the abaya look, as well as feel comfortable.
I especially love this 'Sheer Silk' abaya with the pleated effect on the sleeves.
PURPLE LABEL
The Purple Label range manages to paint a vibrant picture without being too bold. The designs on the abayas are simple but still stand out, which is perfect for modern Muslimah's today as they allow you to express your individual style. You can wear for a special event or combine with your everyday clothes for a more casual look.
The Entwined Abaya is one of my favourites from the Purple Label as the detailing on the sleeves make a statement, without being extravagant. This abaya is a must for every Muslimahs wardrobe!
SIGNATURE COLLECTION
The abayas in this collection are ideal for that special event, say a wedding or evening do, and you want to impress. The abayas are hand embroidered with elegant embellishments delivered on sumptuous, soft fabrics.
The Serenity Abaya from the 'Signature Collection' is gorgeous and perfect to wear as a bridal or wedding abaya. Made from pure silk, it is lined with silk satin, so you don't have to worry about wearing a seperate slip underneath.
There is a pure chiffon slit at the hip with a flared train (can be made to order with a double slit if preferred) The abaya comes with a shayla which is heavily detailed with hand embroidery of crystal stones and pearls. I especially love the drape beading, almost like a necklace-very much my style!
If you like this abaya but want to make some changes to the design or colour, then Akhawat offer a full custom order service where they will consult with you closely, offering expert advice to create a design of your choice.
I receive a lot of requests on my youtube and facebook page from people wanting to know how to style a shayla. So when Akhawat kindly sent me a shayla for the Serenity Abaya, I thought I would make a video on my Youtube Channel to show everyone just how simple it is. I've taken inspiration from the photos on their website and have come up with a second style where the border is placed at the front, as opposed to the side.
For Style Number one I re-created this look:
And here's my outcome...
Comparison....
The second style I've created....
To see how I created the 2 styles watch the video below:
Btw the beautiful hijab I'm wearing at the beginning of the video is called 'Awash with Teal' and is from Princess Rockz
What do you think of my styling?
You can visit Akhawat on their website Check out their blog
This is a collage I made from a Suncare video on Youtube.
Like the t-shirt?? It was one of my favourite buys from Camden Market in North London. I've matched it with a long sleeve cardigan in the same colour. The hijab is from Princeess Rockz
Many years ago I would wear square hijabs with all my outfits and they would be either white or black. Nowadays there is so much choice that I've swapped the drab, old square hijabs for colourful and vibrant hijabs that will match my outfits.
Princess Rockz offer an assortment of square hijabs as well as rectangular hijabs in all different colours. Here are some of the square hijabs we have to offer.
I made a hijab tutorial using the 'Ottoman Blue Square Hijab' where I show 2 ways to wear a square hijab in the style that is often worn in Turkey. Have a look at the video below and don't forget to share the video and subscribe to my Youtube channel :)
Lets admit it girls if there's one thing that finishes off an outfit, its the jewellery. Just one piece of statement jewellery can give your outfit a completely new look.I absolutely love jewellery and have a habit of collecting jewellery, from rings to bangles to necklaces. So when I saw the jewellery from Queen of Gems I couldn't resist!
The final ring I purchased in the front is the Black Oval Ring This is the favourite ring I ordered from them, as I love big rings and this one fits this criteria!
These bracelets are sooo me as they are elasticated and i love the pearl and flower detailing. They are soo cheap and as there's five of the bracelets you can choose which ones to wear to suit any outfit. You can purchase them from here
