Flake Away with Soap and Glory Scrub

Geplaas deur Unknown om 11:42 0 opmerkings
If you're after a scrub that really does the job, you may just have found it! I received this as an Eid present and was very excited to try!

On first impressions it looks appealing, with its pink tub (one of my favourite colours so already a plus there) and its comic writing " Transform your scaly legs from reptilian to radiant". I'm telling you the scrub creator was thinking of me when making this! ' Few of its ingredients are Shea butter, peach seed powder and sugar.

from scaly to fabulous baby

Let me be clear this is a serious gritty product so not for the faint hearted or those with super sensitive skin. Also be careful when scrubbing around delicate areas-it may scratch! I think the scrub is for the legs only (maybe that's why it is coarse) however I have also used on my arms and as long as I apply a gently hand it's fine. Using this around my chest area is a no no! Also apply plenty of cream afterwards as your skin will be dry.

Overall this has to be one of the best scrubs that I have used, and it prevents in grown hairs which is always handy! The dead skin does literally fall off! (I like to soak before to get maximum benefits) I wouldn't recommend for every day use, but 2-3 times a week.

As this was a gift I'm not sure about the price, but Soap and Glory's products are reasonably priced. Take a look in your local Boots store to purchase.

What do you think, have you tried this?

How To: Make a Body Scrub for Glowy Skin

Geplaas deur Unknown om 02:33 0 opmerkings

Today's post is a DIY body scrub. The scrub is made from ingredients found in your kitchen, and is quick and easy to make!

What you will need:
  • Olive Oil/Virgin Olive Oil
  • Brown sugar
  • Half a lemon
  • Bowl
  • Tablespoon for mixing
  • Air tight container
Brown sugar is great for the body and helps to get rid of dead skin cells. Olive oil is moisturising for the body and lemon contains Vitamin C, which will help to provide a glow to your skin. In my opinion this scrub is as good as those sold in the shops-your body will thank you for it!

 How to Make the Scrub

* Pour approx 8 table spoons of brown sugar into a bowl

* Cut the lemon in half

 * Squeeze in the juice of half a lemon

* Add the olive oil so that it covers the mixture

Pour into an airtight container. I am using this gorgeous jar, which I like to take into the shower or use whilst soaking in the bath.

How to Use

When in the shower/bath gently massage all over your body in circular motions, paying particular attention to areas such as your knees and elbows. Rinse off with warm water and gently pat dry with a towel. You can apply the olive oil to damp skin at the end as a moisturiser.

The mixture should last for 1-2 weeks, but once used can easily be made again.

Hope you enjoy. Let me know if it works for you :)
